Diagnosed with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis (JRA) at the tender age of 5 ½ in 1969, Kathy has navigated a complex medical journey that has included over 20 major surgeries, including 9 hip replacements, 2 knee replacements, and numerous other procedures. Despite every joint being affected, her resilience and determination have shaped her into a beacon of hope and empowerment for others facing similar challenges.

Through her experiences with hundreds of doctors, Kathy learned the critical importance of being her own advocate. She discovered how to navigate the healthcare system effectively, ensuring she received the best possible care. This journey of self-advocacy fueled her passion to help others do the same.

In 2007, Kathy became a Certified Empowerment Coach, specializing in Communication in Healthcare, Patient Advocacy, and Dr. Patient Relationships. For over a decade, she has dedicated herself to coaching individuals on how to communicate effectively with their healthcare providers, empowering them to take control of their health journeys.
